Vinyl Wrap Service Agreement

A vehicle wrap is an extremely hands-on process involving many challenging steps that each require full attention and expert craftsmanship. While your vehicle is at MOTIV Auto Styling, it is our top priority to return it to you in a timely manner with a wrap free of flaws. To assure this high level of quality, it is important that we both understand the following. Thank you for choosing MOTIV Auto Styling!

1)  We both understand that MOTIV Auto Styling may need to keep my vehicle for up to 7 business days in order to assure the highest quality installation.

2) We understand that a wrap is not a paint job and in rare cases may have overlapping seams, relief cuts, or other evidence that it is vinyl. Keep in mind that we will always go to every length to ensure that in the case of seams, they are placed in the most inconspicuous place possible.

3) I understand that if my vehicle has paint, or body damage, is excessively dirty, or has a weak clear coat that MOTIV Auto Styling will not be held responsible for any lifting or adhesive failure that may occur in the future.

4) I understand that the final wrap may vary slightly from proofs due to curvature, obstacles or other reasons outside of our control.

5)  I understand that I will be charged a fee of $100 for each hour spent by MOTIV Auto Styling removing existing graphics, or performing heavy cleaning on my vehicle.

6)  Much like my weekly visits to a grocery store, coffee house, gas station, or any other retail establishment, I understand that my vehicle will not be released from MOTIV Auto Styling possession until full payment has been received.

7) If your vehicle has been ceramic coated, please let our team know as soon as possible. Ceramic coated cars can cause issues between the vinyl and the panel it is installed on.

8) I understand that MOTIV Auto Styling is not responsible for items lost, or stolen in my vehicle while in their possession.

 9) I understand that all sales are final. I will not attempt to issue charge-backs, check-stops, or other methods of refund.

Vehicles MUST be completely clean and dry, prior to installing a wrap. A wrap can be installed perfectly, trimmed, and a single drip of water, speck of dust, or wrong move of a squeegee can require that panel be removed, reprinted, and reinstalled.  Nothing can be rushed and by the time your installer has finished your wrap, he has touched almost every inch of your vehicle at least 4 times.

Paint repairs on cars have advanced, and sometimes very difficult for even us to determine if a vehicle has sustained damage, and/or been touched-up, repainted, buffed, or wet sanded, thus weakening the clear coat, or actual paint adhesion to the body. For this reason, MOTIV Auto Styling is not responsible for ANY damage to existing paint or clear coat. By providing your keys to our staff, you understand that MOTIV Auto Styling is not responsible for any damage to paint/clear coat, or paint adhesion to your vehicle including the removal process.

The paint on today’s cars and trucks are very thin and watered down compared to what they were 10+ years ago, meaning there is a higher risk of wrap removability issues especially if the wrap is past its warranty period. During the removal process we will take the proper steps necessary to eliminate and/or minimize any damage to the paint of your vehicle, but in certain instances there may be some areas of paint that come off with the wrap due to irregularities that even the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) cannot control.

We warranty our installation for the first year, if there is any issues they will show well within the first year. MOTIV Auto Styling passes on the existing warranty provided by the manufacturer of the product we install on your vehicle. Should that company decline a warranty claim on your product, MOTIV Auto Styling is not responsible for any further warranty on your product.

Paint Protection Film Installation Service Agreement

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a great way to protect your investment! This sacrificial layer is the best form of protection to keep your vehicle looking new for many years to come. PPF is intended to reduce rock chips and damage from road debris and other environmental factors. PPF does NOT completely eliminate the risk of damage from rocks and road debris. With that said there are a few factors that many are unaware of. This agreement form is meant to bring to light some of those factors, if you have any questions please give us a call.

CURING PROCESS

Your newly installed PPF is installed with a water solution similar to window tint. After the install is finished there can be small pockets of water present that will dry out over the course 3-4 weeks depending on weather conditions. Please reframe from washing your vehicle for 1 week after the installation. If it is possible, please bring the car back 2 weeks after the installation so we may inspect the PPF and make sure everything laid down properly.

INSTALLATION

PPF is typically installed using a precut kit that is cut out using our plotter to insure proper coverage while reducing the need to hand cut certain areas. There may be instances of needing to custom cut certain contours or objects that are not readily available in our computer program by one of our trained professionals with years of experience. With some of the extreme contours of todays cars, relief cuts are mandatory to relax the PPF for long term protection. We will try to place relief cuts in the least visible areas as possible but sometimes that is not attainable.

Certain panels will have a visible edge where the PPF ends and a new panel begins due to tight tolerances and no gap (ex. front bumper meeting the fender). Panels that have these tight tolerances are not able to have PPF wrapped around the edge due to friction between the panels eventually causing the PPF to want to lift.

If your vehicle has been ceramic coated, please let our team know as soon as possible. Ceramic coated cars can cause issues between the PPF and the panel it is installed on. If your vehicle has pre-existing rock chips or damage, there will be a slight air gap around the raised and/or indented area of impact which is more apparent on darker colored cars. Please speak with our team on what can be done as this is a case-by-case basis. We will notify you if we find any areas of concern prior to installation.

MATTE PPF

Full body matte PPF installations are a bit different than our traditional gloss PPF. With Matte PPF we need to try and achieve as much coverage as possible to reduce the amount of the base color seen after installation, though sometimes a small amount of the base color will still be seen depending on the area of coverage. With matte PPF installations we will need to custom cut almost every panel and try to wrap every edge that we can without sacrificing long term reliability. Some areas will have well placed seams that are unavoidable in order to achieve long term reliability with out pushing the film to its limits (typically on bumpers and extreme contours).

REPAINTED SURFACES

If you have any repainted surfaces on your vehicle that you know of, please inform our team as soon as possible. Aftermarket paint typically does not have the same adhesion as OEM paint and can be a potential problem during the installation as well as during removal. Aftermarket paint has a higher chance of coming off with PPF during the removal and for these reasons MOTIV Auto Styling is NOT liable for any damages due to this issue.

If your vehicle has recently been resprayed, please contact the body shop and ask what they recommend for cure times before PPF is installed. If PPF is installed before the paint has full cured it can cause the PPF to bubble or have issues in other ways due to the paint out-gassing during the curing process and MOTIV Auto Styling will NOT be responsible if this occurs.

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY & LIFESPAN OF PPF

Our PPF will come with a manufacturer warranty card outlining the coverage and limitations of the film installed. For Suntek Ultra Gloss and Matte PPF, these films come with a 10 year manufacturer warranty not limited to bubbling, peeling, pitting, yellowing, delaminating, and cracking. If any of this occurs within the 10 years of installation, please bring the vehicle back to MOTIV Auto Styling or any other Suntek Ultra dealer and we will handle the warranty process for you. We recommend that our clients bring the car back at the 8 year mark for us to inspect and assess the condition of the PPF so we can recommend on when it should be removed. Waiting to have PPF removed after the 10 year mark can be costly and increase the risk of damage to the item it is installed on. We typically recommend having PPF removed at or before the 10 year mark.

Window Tint Installation Service Agreement

Window tint is a great way to keep your car cool and enhance the appearance. With that said there are a few factors that many are unaware of. This agreement form is meant to bring to light some of those factors, if you have any questions please give us a call.

CURING TIME

Your window tint can take up to 3 weeks to fully adhere to the glass that it is installed on depending on ambient temperatures and weather conditions. It is crucial that your windows are NOT rolled down in the first 48 hours in order to allow the film to properly set up for maximum longevity. Over the course of the first week you will notice a slight distortion and small pockets of water appearing in the film. This is completely NORMAL as the adhesive is drying out from the water solution that we use to install the film. Often times, these symptoms will be gone within a few days if the weather is warm and above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. If anything persists after 3 weeks please contact us and we will take care of any issues.

IMPERFECTIONS

Though we strive for excellence in every installation, due to the nature of the product some degree of dust contamination and/or imperfections are present in every window film application, though we try to mitigate this as much as possible. Also pre-existing flaws, scratches and/or metal deposits on the glass are often much more noticeable after the windows are tinted.

DOT MATRIX

Dot Matrix are small dots the factory puts around the edge of some windows and along the back glass as a visual cosmetic border. These dots are basically raised areas on the glass that may cause the film to stick on the dots instead of the window. This will not cause the film to peel, but will seem silver in appearance. This is normal and will not disappear.

HARMONIC DISTORTION

If you are wearing polarized sunglasses or glasses, you may see anomalies on the glass, (rainbows, lines or marks are a few examples) which are an inherent result of the glass tempering processes made visible by the application of window film. If you wish to have tint removed as a result of this there will be an additional fee, though many clients deem the benefits of window tint of greater importance than these minor anomalies.

ELECTRICAL ISSUES AFTER INSTALL

Certain Makes and Models of vehicles have their electrical systems located in the rear section, inner door panel, or below the front and rear windshield and may get damaged during the window tint installation process. As water is sprayed onto the window, these systems are exposed to moisture and water run off. Although all precaution is taken to prevent this from happening, we are not responsible for damages that may occur. Please ask before the installation to understand your risk before work begins. We use special tools and protection devices to mitigate this problem as much as possible. Some vehicles have higher chances of this happening than others.

We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle. We will not warranty any film that has been rubbed, scratched, or hit by jewelry, seat belt clips, pet claws or any hard objects of any kind.

It is ILLEGAL to operate a motor vehicle licensed in the state of California that fails to comply with California Vehicle Code 26708. MOTIV Auto Styling, it's representatives, and/or employees are not responsible for any clients choice of illegal window film installation on their vehicle nor any tickets or accidents that happen as a result of such installation. Such installation is intended for off-road use only. If tint needs to be removed or replaced as a result of any client's choice of illegal window film installation, there will be an additional fee. A citation for illegal window tint is usually a $25 fix-it ticket and there are usually no points added to your driving record and nothing reported to insurance.

FILM REMOVAL SERVICE AGREEMENTS

Vinyl Wrap/PPF Removal Service Agreement

Removal of vinyl or paint protection film has inherent risks. The biggest of those risks is that paint may lift up due to aged adhesive, or weak bond of paint underneath. Because we have no way to know the

condition of the paint underneath the vinyl wrap we cannot be responsible for paint lifting, clear

coat damage, scratches, discoloration or any other paint defect that is either caused during the

removal process or that was present but not visible prior to removal. There is a chance that an adhesive promoter was used if the vinyl wrap or PPF was installed by another shop and can increase the removal time and possibility of paint damage depending on how much was used and the location it was used.

We take every precaution to minimize these risks including

• Heating the panel with a steamer

• Applying hot water prior to removal

• Using a heat gun when necessary

• Using plastic razor blades when necessary

• Using paint safe solvent when necessary

• Placing the car in the sun for a few hours to warm up and loosen the adhesive

By accepting the terms of this document I acknowledge that MOTIV Auto Styling will take every precaution necessary to mitigate the above risks but I do not hold them responsible for any preexisting damage or damage caused by the removal of vinyl wrap. Additionally, I agree that MOTIV Auto Styling will charge an hourly rate of $100 per hour to remove film and cannot provide a 100% accurate estimate prior to completion of the project.

Window Tint Removal Service Agreement

Removal of window tint has inherent risks of damage to the glass it has been applied to especially rear windows with defroster lines. Window tint becomes harder to remove the longer it has been installed on the car and can become exponentially harder to remove if the film is failing (i.e. bubbling, purpled, hazing).

Automotive manufacturers are constantly finding cheaper ways to affix defroster lines to rear windows every year which results in defroster lines becoming very delicate. The risk of damage to the defroster lines is very high while removing window tint from rear windows, while we take every precaution to reduce the risk it can happen and therefore we are NOT liable for damaged defroster lines.

Certain automotive manufacturers are now equipping vehicles with infrared coatings to windows on vehicles that are not noticeable prior to installation as they are completely clear and transparent. These coatings are mainly installed on side windows and windshields to keep occupants cooler. These coatings are highly likely to be damaged upon removal of window film and we are NOT liable for any damage to these coatings.

We take every precaution to minimize these risks including but not limited too:

• Heating the window film with a steamer

• Use of the "black trash bag method"

• Using a heat gun when necessary

• Using plastic razor blades when necessary

• Using adhesive solvent when necessary

• Using steel wool or white scrubbing pads to remove adhesive

By agreeing to this document I acknowledge that MOTIV Auto Styling will take every precaution necessary to

mitigate the above risks but I do not hold them responsible for any pre existing damage or damage caused by the removal of window tint. Additionally, I agree that MOTIV Auto Styling will charge: $25 per side window, $80 for a windshield, and an hourly rate of $100 per hour to remove window film from rear windows and cannot provide a 100% accurate estimate prior to completion of the project.

We will not start any work until these terms are accepted by you (the client). BY APPROVING OUR PROPOSAL, YOU ARE HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGING THAT YOU HAVE READ ALL OF OUR TERMS, SERVICE AGREEMENTS AND ACKNOWLEDGE ANY INHERENT RISKS WITH ALL SERVICES, AND THUS RELEASING MOTIV AUTO STYLING FROM LIABILITY.
